Habits to Glow from the Inside

Want vibrant radiance, and an energy that people are drawn to but can't quite put their finger on what it is exactly?

When we want that glow, it's not just about what you put on your body. It's all about the energy you embody.

You know when you're feeling your best, it seems like everything goes well for you, people are drawn to you, and things feel effortless and easy.

Chances are, there are certain habits for you that when you do them on a consistent basis, you start to feel at the top of your game.

I've been inspired to review all of my habits and kick up the positive ones since reading the book, Atomic Habits by James Clear.

Here are 7 of my favorite, very practical, habits that I do daily. They make life feel better, effortless and so much more enjoyable.

Drinking plenty of water

We know that staying hydrated is imperative for our health. Yet there's so many people who are chronically dehydrated! If you want more energy and to feel better, make sure you drink plenty of water!

If you need help reminding yourself, get a cute new water bottle that you'll want to carry around. Or better yet, put several filled water bottles all around your house so they serve as visual cues. The easier you make it on yourself, the more likely you'll do this.

Lately I’ve been doing a glass of lemon water every morning to get an extra boost of vitamin C. It makes me feel like I’m going the extra mile for my health, and that adds to my confidence.

Stretching & moving your body

If you're not a gym person, don't fret. (If you are, that's great!) Try going for a walk, doing a YouTube Pilates video, or take a yoga class. Find something you enjoy, then make it a habit by deciding when and where you'll do your exercise,

And stretching can take less than 5 minutes. But it can greatly reduce the stress & tension you might be holding in your body.

Getting sunlight

Apparently, since most people are spending most of their time in doors, a lot of us are deficient in Vitamin D. We now know the incredible and vast benefits of getting sunlight, such as improving sleep quality, reducing blood pressure, and regulating the immune system.

The sun also feels incredibly energizing and healing. If you’re ever in a bad mood, get out into the sun and in a few minutes, you will feel so much better - I know from experience!

Doing something that feels exciting

I think so many of us don't do this enough or on a daily basis. You can feel when someone has that zest for life, and when someone has been bored with their life the last decade. Look for what lights you up - it could be something little or something big. Find a way to do some of that each day.

Whether that’s filming or editing content, doing something that drives my business forward, or meeting with a friend, I want my life to feel EXCITING, so I make it a point to do something that is exciting to me.

Grounding

Sometimes called Earthing, grounding is making physical connection with the Earth. Our human bodies are designed to be in connection with the Earth. This isn't just woo woo, hippy dippy stuff. Science has actually shown the results of Earthing to reduce inflammation.

Our bodies are like a battery, and the Earth has a physical electrical charge that connects to our bodies and can reduce inflammation, pain, stress, and improve blood flow, sleep, etc.

I try to get outside on to the grass barefoot daily. This is an IMMEDIATE mood booster and stress reliever for me. If I ever feel upset, I will go walk around or sit on the grass in my backyard and it changes everything!

If you don’t have grass easily accessible, make it a point to go to a park once a week, take a hike outside, go to the ocean, etc. Just take your shoes off at some point and connect with the Earth.

Practicing gratitude

Cliche? Maybe. But it’s incredible how your blessings double up when you feel grateful for them. When you start noticing all of the positives in your life, you feel more uplifted, hopeful, and people can sense that!

Start a morning or nightly gratitude practice. You can either say them out loud, write them down, or just sit and breathe with a hand on your heart and think of all the things you’re grateful for.

A daily self care ritual

We’re all incredibly busy. But when we take the time to do even the quickest self care ritual, it sends a message to yourself that you love yourself, and boosts your confidence.

My favorite daily self care ritual is massaging in some luxurious oil, or doing a Gua Sha massage.

So what's your favorite habits, and is there any new ones you're going to start implementing from this post?
